Springtime has arrived in Montreal!
Springtime is traditionally a time for renewal and growth. This spring has been long awaited by Montrealers, and yesterday – the day before Easter – it was here in all its glory!
It was a gorgeous, truly delightful, sunny day! My colleague, Karima, and myself, were up bright and early for a busy morning of staging and preparing a new property for a photo shoot (coming soon!). When we finished, we decided to take a lovely lunch break at the Duke de Lorraine, one of Montreal’s most delightful French pâtisseries and cafés, which happened to be nearby. Opened in 1952, Montreal’s very first French pâtisserie has become one of the city’s gourmet institutions for those with a sweet tooth, as well as for those who enjoy savories. My crispy smoked salmon baguette sandwich was served with the best “frites” Françaises (French fries) I’ve had in a long time, and both were excellent! It allowed me to resist eating one of their much too tempting pastries (since I knew I’d be eating way too much Easter chocolate today!).
Today is Easter Sunday, so my colleage and I want to wish you and your loved ones a particularly lovely Sunday. It has been raining this morning, but just remember that all the beauty nature gives us needs rain as well as sunshine! And as I write these lines, the sun is peaking through!
Rainy days are also ideal for spending quality time with the family. So enjoy the rest of this long weekend!
